Mention is a social media monitoring platform. It allows us to listen to what’s been said about ourselves on websites and social media. All you have to do is enter your name and you will be given information about what people could be saying about you throughout different platforms. You can react to the mentions within the tool if you’ve connected your social media accounts with it. You also have the option to be alerted when you are mentioned. The subscription starts at $29 per month.

This is a website I found that has different companies that actually monitor your personal brand for you and report back to you recent activity that you were involved with in a certain social media element. There is one tool on the list that is very helpful for people with multiple twitter accounts, which I find the most helpful because I created a second twitter account for this class. These are good helpful hints for future job-finding endeavors.

Tweetdeck is a good use for twitter. If you have more than one account in your brand you can keep up with it constantly. Also if you want to tweet the same thing from more than one account it also allows you to do that. It also lets you do scheduled tweets, so if you wanted to send a tweet out next week at a certain time then you can. My company uses tweet deck a lot because we have more than one account to tweet from. It is a very useful and helpful tool to use. It also keeps you on top of things by doing the scheduled tweets so you won’t have to be tweeting every single day. https://tweetdeck.twitter.com

The tool is chose was Canva. This tool allows you to pick a picture to represent what you are trying to say. In studies, it is said that people are 18% more to look at something and click on it if there is a picture with it. This platform also ensures that your picture is represented in the right way and will fit to social media sites such as Facebook post, Facebook cover photo, Twitter post, Instagram photo.

To create yourself a quality personal brand it is important to be able to monitor it. A tool that helps you do this is called Mention. Through Mention you can find what people say about you through every social media platform. This website makes this monitoring so simple because it is more efficient than going through every social media tool at a time. You can even set it up so you get notifications every time your name is mentioned on a social network, this way you can keep up with what is being said about you online. From this you can take this information and reply to both negative and positive responses accordingly. Attached is the URL to open Mention!!

TweetDeck is a popular way of showing your personal brands to others. This allows you to track, organize and show engagement with two different twitter accounts. It shows different columns based on your specific needs. It can also help you participate in twitter chats or different hashtags. This is an important way to discover your personal brands and show others what you have to offer.

A tool that can be used to monitor and support my personal brand is Buffer. Buffer allows you to update several social media channels through the same intermediary opposed to just one. Not only is this helpful in keeping track of all your social media sites through one website but buffer also suggests content based on personal interests.

Topsy is a service that allows a company to search a term and see what activity is going on with whatever you search. All you need to do is type in a term and Topsy will give you results that shows how many times people have tweeted about that term in the past hour, day, week, or month. There are also graphs displayed to show the trend over time of that term. It is a very good tool for monitoring the popularity of something on Twitter, allowing researchers to detect and take advantage of trends, both upwards and downwards.

I also found Hootsuite, a very useful tool for social media accounts. It connects to many social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Luckily, you are not limited to using only one. It helps because it connects all of these accounts in one area to keep better organized by sharing ads and promotions through all of your social media pages. You’re also easily able to see what people are saying about your product/services. https://hootsuite.com/

Google alerts is one of many tools used to monitor personal branding on social media. By creating a Google alert, you can get an email notification any time Google finds new results on a topic that interest you, in this case that topic is you.
For example, you could get an update when people post something about you on the web. if you don’t approve of and/or verify the content being posted about you, you can have it removed.

Klout is a social media analysis tool used across networks, launched in 2008. It is based around something called a Klout score, which is a metric 1-100 that tracks your ability to drive action. The higher your Klout score, the more influential you are. It works by accumulating the amount of response you receive across your networks. Klout also offers services such as suggesting shareable content that your audiences most likely have not see yet, and also Klout Perks, which are tangible rewards such as discounts, products, and special offers for Klout users. These Perks are earned by your location, Klout score, influential topics etc. In general it is a scoring system to see how responsive your networks are to your posts.

The tool that I have located is a personal website template. A personal website is a great way to incorporate a professional way to promote your skills and aspects of your career online. Creating a digital footprint online may be difficult but with a personal website anyone can issue the information that they want employers to see and understand about a certain individual.

What is interesting is I never really thought of Linked In as a “tool” for personal branding- really considered it more of a platform. However, through this research, I have found that LinkedIn in addition to other sites such as About.me and Google+ are some of the tools one can use to build, maintain, and evaluate their personal brand. I’ve included a link to a website I came across which lists these three tools in addition to some others and briefly explains what each of these tools do and how they might be able to aid you in building your personal brand.
